imageGayle Robinson, Store Owner/Director
Gayle is a 3rd generation Robinson who has stepped in to take over leadership of the store and she brings with her 28 years of retail experience, having owned and operated her own stores since 1981. An avid adventurer who has sailed from here to the Caribbean, done crewed yacht charters in the U. S. Virgin Islands, hiked the Juan de Fuca Trail here on Vancouver Island, and the Inca Trail in Peru. Gayle is very proud to carry on the Robinson’s tradition that her grandfather started in 1929.

Matt King has been with Robinson’s for the past 14 years and in the industry since he was 14. Considered one of the Northwest’s most innovative tiers, Matt’s fly patterns have been featured in numerous fly fishing magazines, international journals, books such as Jim Schollmeyer’s Trout Flies of the West and Patent Patterns. They have also been exhibited at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, and are auctioned annually at the Pacific Salmon Foundation Benefit Gala.

Since moving to British Columbia, Matt has spent considerable time in pursuit of Pacific Salmon, Steelhead and Trout and enjoys creating new and innovative fly patterns.

Dot is the glue that holds this crew together. She has been with Robinson’s for over 25 years and currently looks after the accounting side of the store. In addition to knowing all about our history, her ever present smile and positive outlook keep us smiling.

Laurie joined Robinson’s 4 years ago and job shares accounting with Dot.  She brings with her a vast technology background and fitness recovery training experience.

Nick was raised on the island with a passion for the outdoors. This passion has sent him around the world in pursuit of adventure. Nick spent a number of seasons in whistler, before traveling around South East Asia. His most recent adventure found him in Central America. When not traveling, nick can be found hiking, fly fishing, and paddling around Canada.

Dave is originally from Ontario. Since moving to the Coast he has spends his days off exploring the many trails around Vancouver Island. His most recent trip was to the remote Nootka trail. Dave enjoys backpacking and hiking. He is very knowledgeable around boots, clothing, and packs.
